Ganesha Temple in Ranthambore

The Trinetra Ganesha Temple in Ranthambore is one the most renowned and oldest temples in Rajasthan. It is the only temple in the world that is dedicated to the whole family of Lord Ganesha. The temple is situated in the radiant fortress of Ranthambore which is around 12 km away from Sawai Madhopur.

Bisaldeo Temple

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Bisaldeo temple attracts thousands of devotees, both for its spiritual and social significance. The temple is defined as a Monument of National Importance by the Archeological survey of India. It is located on the Bisalpur Dam on the Banas river and thus promises serene surroundings. It was built by Chahamana ruler Vigraharaja IV, also called as Bisal Deo, in the 12th century.

Galtaji

Set amid low green hills is located the ancient pilgrimage centre of Galtaji, with temples, pavilions and holy water tanks. Galtaji Temple has been built with pink sandstone and is located inside the City Palace. Another popular temple is the Ramgopalji temple, also called the Monkey temple, referring to the large group of resident monkeys. Another iconic temple here is the Surya Mandir, dedicated to Sun god. The temple complex also has freshwater springs and seven holy kunds (water tanks). Among these, the Galta kund is the holiest and is believed to never run dry. A rock shaped like a cow's head, called Gaumukh, is the place from where clean and pure water flows.

Galtaji

Digamber Jain Mandir

Around 14 km from Jaipur is located the ancient Digamber Jain temple. Made of intricately carved red stone, the seven-storeyed temple is dedicated to Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara of Jainism, sitting in the padmasan (lotus position) posture. The construction of the temple has been phased across several years and the last leg was completed in 10th century. The temple has a beautiful architecture with several high-rising shikharas. The inner sanctum is made in stone and has eight shikharas.

Birla Temple

Built in 1988, the majestic Birla temple is dedicated to Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu or Narayan. Constructed entirely with white marble, it is located in south Jaipur at the base of the Moti Doongri hill. Built in a tiered fashion, the temple is decorated with fine sculptures depicting mythological stories. The idols of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Narayan have been carved out of just one single piece of marble. The ambience here is of peace and harmony. Pictures and figures of several saints, historical achievers and philosophers like Socrates and Confucius are also housed in the temple. As per historical sources, Birla temple has been made on the land given to the Birla family by a Maharaja.
