Shashur, meaning in the blue pines, is before a renowned Buddhist monastery in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. The monastery draws its name from in the blue pine trees that surround the structure, giving it a surreal aura. Founded in the 17th century AD, the monastery has several rare paintings .
