Independence Day

"Every year, on August 15, India celebrates its Independence Day, marking the event when it attained freedom from the British rule. The day is observed as a National Holiday all over the country. Independence Day celebrations in the national capital, Delhi includes unfurling of the  National Flag at Red Fort by the Prime Minister of India and his address to the nation. The important government landmarks are bedecked and roads are decorated with the National Flag. Celebrations are also done in the state, state capitals and district headquarters across the country.
