Romain Rolland Library

ROMAIN ROLLAND LIBRARY

It is a heartwarming experience for the bibliophiles. Earlier known as BibliothèquePublique, this library was founded in the year 1827 and is one of India’s oldest operating libraries. It is named after a French scholar, Romain Rolland who was a close aide to Mahatma Gandhi. It has a vast collection of books and periodicals in French, English, and Tamil along with books so old and rare that the pages are now brittle.
