MAJOR ATTRACTIONS

Also known as 'Nelluru', it is a combination of two words: 'Nel' and 'Ooru' which mean 'Paddy' and 'Place' respectively. It is home to major temples like Ranganatha Temple, Narasimhaswamy Temple as well as Barah Shaheed Dargah. Apart from temples, it is also home to the rich Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary as well as Pulicat Lake.

Nellore is an important rail head on the Chennai-Delhi - Chennai -Kolkatta Line and is serviced by trains from across major cities in India

It is well connected by road with NH5 from Chennai to Kolkata, a part of the Golden Quadrilateral expressway project.
