Rangia

RANGIA

Rangia is a village located in the Kamrup District of Assam. The village is famous for the Shripur Dewalay Mandir, the temple has seen many devotees and admirers of Hindu culture and religion. This temple is said to have been built by Ahom King, Sib Singha (1718-1744) and legend has it, part of the body of Goddess Sati fell here, after she immolated herself, therefore, the place is revered as a Shakti peeth and an ancient shrine of Goddess Sati.
