NAG DEVTA TEMPLE

This ancient temple is thronged by pilgrims who are devout of Hindu God Shiva. ‘Nag’ means snake and here it refers to the snake which is carried by Shiva around his neck. The temple is most visited during the festival of ‘Nag Panchmi’. The temple is beautifully decorated during the festival and a grand ‘pooja’ ceremony is organised wherein snakes and images are worshipped. The ancient temple situated on Mackenzie Road, about 6 km from Mussoorie. Vehicles can go right up to the spot. It provides a charming view of Doon Valley as well as of Mussoorie.
