Located 53 km. to the north of Almora, Kausani is a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular view of the Himalayas. Nanda Devi, Trishul and Panchachuli are the three peaks which make for a distinct view from Kausani. Previously known as Valna, this place is blessed with many attractions and a sight of sunset so captivating, that it is sure to leave you completely enchanted. In 1929, Mahatma Gandhi stayed here at the Anasakti Ashram and titled Kausani as 'Switzerland of India'.
