Patanjali Yogpeeth (Trust) was founded in 4 February, 2005. The Trust was founded by Swami Ramdev ji Maharaj and Acharya Balkrishna ji Maharaj with the purpose of establishing Yoga and Ayurveda on the world map, for the study and ancient research of the Vedic tradition of Yoga & Ayurveda, The institution has a wide range of yoga activities which include yoga classes held as camps outside and in the institution for healthy persons and patients with television broadcasts of the classes as well; yoga classes at the institution which are free held every day conducted by trained teachers; yoga courses conducted by the university; research on yoga and dissemination of knowledge through books, international conferences etc to make a disease free world through a scientific approach to Yoga and Ayurveda. The Trust manages almost all the Yoga & Ayurveda activities and to achieve this aim Ophthalmology department, ENT department, Dental department, Surgery department, Physiotherapy & Acupressure section, Yoga Research and accommodation facilities equipped with latest machines and equipment’s are providing services. The trust also has huge library containing literature & Manuscripts on Yoga, Ayurveda and Botany attached with internet surfing center.
Patanjali Yogpeeth is one of the largest yoga institutes in India. The objective of the trust to establish a new World Health Organization, to fulfill the resolution of making a new world order free from disease and medicine, through research work on the knowledge-base of our great saints and sages viz. Maharishi Patanjali, Charak and Sushurut and the main aim of the trust would be to impart the practical and functional training of Astang Yog, Raj Yog, Dhayan Yog, Hath Yog, Ashan and Prananyam etc. as received from the ancient tradition propounded by the Rishies and Munis to make an end of extreme sufferings to cure diseases and to receive a calm stage of mind and extreme happiness.
