Surrounded by a splendid beach, the historic Bekal Fort offers a superb view of the Arabian Sea from its tall observation towers, where a few centuries ago huge cannons used to be placed. Bekal Fort ,is noted for its keyhole shaped structure, offers spectacular views of the surroundings; especially that of the sea from its ramparts. It is the largest and best preserved fort in the whole of Kerala. Some of the ramparts of this fort have been mounted with huge cannons, which still look very imposing.
