Hosted by various monasteries of Thiksey, Karsha Nanzkar and Spituk, in Ladakh, this 2-day festival is a significant event in the region. The celebrations start with morning prayers, after which the sacrificial cake is distributed. An enactment of the assassination of King Lang Darma of Tibet in the 9th century by a Buddhist monk is performed.
