Dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Jayanti, the Dhwaj Temple invites travellers both for its spiritual significance and beautiful surroundings. Surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks, the temple lies at a height of 2,100 m above sea level, and offers splendid views of the scenery. In the surrounding areas, one can also spot snow leopards and Himalayan black bears. It is believed that tying a red cloth on the bells hanging at the temple is auspicious. Many believe that doing so will make all your wishes come true. The temple is a 4-km uphill walk and reaching to it while admiring the scenic views is an experience in itself. Once you make it to the top after walking for an hour or two, the spectacular views will make it absolutely worth the effort.
