Lying at a distance of 175 km from Kolhapur and 110 km from Goa, Vengurla is a prominent stopover on the tourist circuit. It is best known for its long serene coastline and shore temples. The main attraction is the crescent-shaped Vengurla Beach that boasts a blanket of sun-kissed golden sand. Bordered by hills of rolling green dotted with mango, cashew and coconut trees, the beach is a delight for vacationers, who can soak in abundant natural beauty.

Tourists can also pay their respects at two famous temples dedicated to Shri Rameshwar and Shri Devi Sateri. Vengurla has a rich cultural heritage and was established as a commercial centre by the Dutch traders in 1665 as it was a safe and natural port. Later, the British used this port. Visitors can still witness traces of Dutch and British influences in Vengurla.
