Spread over an area of 11 sq km, Sagareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary plays host to a variety of flora and fauna. The sanctuary enjoys a vegetation of mixed dry deciduous and southern thorn forests that shelter a variety of species. Some of the common species you can find are wolves, hyenas, antelopes, wild cats, foxes, rabbits and peacocks.

The best season to visit the sanctuary is between August and February. To get a scenic view of River Krishna flowing through grapevines and sugarcane fields, one needs to hike to the top of the hill here. Tourists can also pay a visit to Sagareshwara, located a stone�s throw from the sanctuary. It is known for a group of 51 ancient temples, which date back to the Yadava or the Shilahara period.
