Mantalai Temple, located at a height of 1,450 m and surrounded by deodar trees, offers a peaceful environment to visitors. The shrine has a small idol of Goddess Parvati as a kanya (girl child). It is believed that Goddess Parvati was born here and got married to Lord Shiva at the same place. There is a divine rock that is said to be a sign of their marriage. An ancient temple of Lord Shiva, Aparneswar, is located near Mantalai lake. Two sets of idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha can be found here, along with the main idol of shivling. Two idols of Nandi (bull god) stand facing the shrine. It is located about 112 km from Jammu.
