The Marble Rocks, at Bhedaghat in the Jabalpur district, is one of the most spectacular natural sites in the country. Located around 25 km from the city of Jabalpur on the banks of Narmada river, these rocks rise up as high as 100 feet. The play of light and shadow of the sun and the moon on the pristine marble and the joyful river waters, presents a kaleidoscope of unforgettable images. Much like magnesium limestone rocks, these marble stones also reflect different colours in different lights. Moonlight sightings are especially divine and that is why there are a number of boat rides available at the canyon. Visitors can enjoy the view of the mighty Narmada river surrounded by magical mountains on moonlit nights through boat rides. There are a couple of points around the canyon that should not be missed, like Bandar Kudni. The mountains come so close to each other here that monkeys can actually jump from one shore to the other without any difficulty. The site also holds archaeological importance as excavations have found shells of dinosaur eggs at some of the ghats.
