Dehradun boasts great weather and a variety of terrains that can be enjoyed by trekkers throughout the year. The scenic routes that include mountains, valleys, waterfalls as well as plains, attract a large number of adventure tourists every year. Common treks around Dehradun include Chopta-Tugnath trek, Har-ki-Dun trek, Dayara Bugyal trek, and many more. A particularly intriguing trek to undertake is the Nunes Bakarna Chhaskhet trek, where one can walk alongside a soothing river and then venture into a mountain track. This trek takes you to the village of Chhaskhet. Taking about five hours, it starts at an altitude of 800 m and then rises to about 1,800 m above sea level. It begins from Jariwala village, which has picturesque surroundings.

If you're looking for an easy trek, head to the top of Benog Hill, which takes about a day to reach. The summit lies at an elevation of 2,250 m above sea level. While coming back, you can also sight wildlife like leopards, Himalayan black bear and many rare birds. Pari Tibba is another sweet spot that can be trekked to. Known as the hill of fairies, it is dotted with various hues in different seasons. You can also take up a trek to Robber's Cave. While many people return from the outside of the cave as one has to pass through a narrow gap between two huge rocks, for the adventurous lot, it can be a thrilling challenge.
