Kankrajhor comprises a whopping 9,000 hectare of tree-dotted area that includes kusum, shaal, teak etc. The area is also famous for cultivating cashew nuts, coffee and oranges. Not only that, it is also famous for trekking, and offers plenty of scenic locations in its thick forests and vast fields for one to enjoy.

This lush forest, located in the northwest end of the sub division of Jhargram, is blessed with tall trees that create an extensive green cover for animals like bears and wild pigs. Locals say panthers sometimes make an appearance here as well.

Small streams run through Kankrajhor, thus nourishing the vegetation and ensuring a healthy supply of nutrients to the soil. There are large ponds here too, where animals can often be seen drinking water and playing with their young.
