Popularly called the coconut city as tender and ripe coconuts are sent from here to many cities and towns across India, Pollachi is located about 40 km away from Coimbatore.  Its geographical closeness to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Western Ghats ensures that it has amazing climate throughout the year. The main attractions are the Subramanyar Temple, which invite hundreds of devotees every month. 

Pollachi also boasts one of the largest jaggery markets in Asia and the largest cattle market in South India. Tourists can indulge in shopping to their heart's content, especially coconuts, jaggery and vegetables. Pollachi also outshines in the field of film industry. It is famous for shooting of South Indian films and approximately over 1,500 movies have been shot here.
