Established in 2001, by Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, this is the only university exclusively for the specially-abled in India and the world. It provides higher and professional education to persons with disabilities. The university offers courses on management studies, several languages like Sanskrit, English and Hindi, and economics, psychology, music, fine arts, commerce, special education, computer and information sciences, history, sociology, culture, archaeology, social work and some others. Both bachelor's and master's degrees are offered here, enabling the specially-abled to apply for jobs in various industries. In fact, the university has a dedicated placement cell that helps find jobs for students in the public as well as private sectors. Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, or Swamiji as he is fondly known, was elected as the life-long chancellor of this university on September 27, 2001.
