Sukanta academy

Sukanta Academy is a science centre that has been set up by the Government of Tripura in order to achieve the objectives of promoting science, art and culture through the active involvement of children. A small planetarium has also been set up within the complex to attract students, research scholars and scientists. The foundation stone of the place was laid in the year 1986.

State academy of tribal cultures

The State Academy of Tribal Culture provides a comprehensive insight into Tripura's ethnic matrix. It was set up in the years 2009-2010, for promoting and preserving age-old tribal cultures of the state. It has an astounding display of tribal costumes, handicrafts, instruments, utensils and objects of daily life sourced from across 19 tribal cultures in the state. Most of these belong to the bodo group of Indo-Mongoloid families. It offers an exciting experience if one is interested in peeking into the history of Tripura.

Tripura Government Museum

Built in 1970, Tripura Government Museum is one of the finest tourist attractions that is adequately curated for visitors from different countries. The museum lies in Ujjayanta Palace and houses halls constituting of as many as 76 galleries. The total number of displays presented by the authority to the visitors are about 1,406, and include gold, silver and bronze coins, bronze statues, murals, terracotta plaques, stone inscriptions, copper plates, textiles and ornaments. The main objective of the museum is to protect and present the history of nature and man of the Northeastern part of India.
