Promotion of Tourism in International and Domestic Markets in the Country
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, as part of its on-going activities, releases media campaigns in the print, electronic, online and outdoor media campaigns in the international and domestic markets, under the Incredible India brand-line, to promote various tourism destinations and products of the country. (c) The expenditure on campaigns released in the International and Domestic Markets is incurred from funds allocated under the “Restructured Scheme of Overseas Promotion and Publicity including Marketing Development Assistance (OPMD)” and “Domestic Promotion and Publicity including Hospitality (DPPH)” heads respectively. Details of funds allocated under these heads during 2010-11 and 2011-12 are given below: (Rs. in crore)
*As on 29.2.2012 The International media campaigns have been released globally in important and potential tourist generating markets, covering the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia – Pacific regions.
