Banavasi is located on the banks of river Varadha in the state of Karnataka, at a distance of 100 kms from Karwar, the district centre. Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka, is 345 km away.

BY AIR: The cities of Hubli at a distance of l00 kms and Dabolim (Goa), 245 km away from Banavasi have airports. Taxis may be hired at counters inside the airports to reach Banavasi.

BY ROAD: Sirsi, about 20 km away, is the nearest town and is fed by buses from Bangalore. There is local bus service from Sirsi to Banavasi every half an hour. Tourist taxis are also available from Sirsi. Driving up from Bangalore would take seven to eight hours on NH-206.

BY TRAIN: The nearest train station is at Haveri (70 km) away. Several trains from Bengaluru and Mumbai stop at this station. A taxi can be organised to pick you up from the station. Karwar is connected by Konkan Railway. Hubli has a well-connected railway station as well.
