Dear Friend. |
|
| |
A much-awaited annual visitor to our shores is finally here … yes, the monsoons have arrived, to caress us with their beauty, drench us with their ferocity and awe us with their untamed power. One of the most dramatic climatic phenomena on earth, and unlike any other downpour anywhere, the monsoons have a major impact on our economy. For visitors, the monsoons are possibly the best time to explore the countryside. The summer dust has washed off, the rivers are full, the hills are green and the earth is renewing itself. Go on then, pack your bags and head here! |

Did You Know
In the megapolis of Mumbai, the surest indication of the monsoon is considered to be a migratory bird – the pied crested cuckoo (koel). It is believed to migrate from Eastern Africa towards Lakshadweep and travel up on the South West monsoon wind, going north towards Dharbanga in Bihar, to breed in cooler climes till November. If the koel has arrived, say the locals believe, the monsoons will follow. |

While others may claim breathtaking locales, the mysticism of the east, the draw of civilization, the call of the wild.... India is that and much more.....
It is a journey of mind and soul.
It is a journey of the five senses
It is a journey of self-discovery
It is a journey of self-fulfillment. |
